Sandtoft Airfield is situated near to the village of Sandtoft in North Lincolnshire. It's just off the M180 motorway between Doncaster and Scunthorpe. Also less than an hour's drive away are Hull, York, Leeds, Sheffield, Chesterfield, Lincoln - making it an ideal base for your flight to depart from.
Sandtoft originally opened in 1944 as a satellite base for RAF Lindholme, home to the Lancaster and Halifax bombers of Bomber Command. Placed on Care and Maintenance after the war, RAF Sandtoft was fully inactive by 1953.
It has a single 886-metre-long by 18-metre-wide tarmac runway (05/23) pointing almost exactly north-easterly / south-westerly. Runway lights are available for night use.
Of interest to its visitors are the café, free car parking and toilets.
The Happy Café on site serve hot and cold drinks, food, and have great views of Runway 23 if the wind is in a south-westerly direction. They usually close by the early afternoon, so check their site and/or social media to find up-to-date opening times.

Visitors are welcome to use the toilets in the Happy Café (if within its opening times) otherwise there is one on airfield premises which can be used after meeting with your pilot.
