The safety and security of our passengers is the number one priority on any of our sightseeing flights, right from the booking stage to the flight itself.

At UKFlightExperiences we have implemented all standards and guidance recommended by the UK Civil Aviation Authority, even optional ones. Before any wheels leave the ground, we ensure that:

  • Aircraft are serviced, airworthy and in suitable condition for flight
  • Pilots have met UKFlightExperiences elevated standards
  • The route has been meticulously planned and understood, including the potential for any hazards or diversions
  • Any threats and risks have been assessed and mitigations put in place
  • Current meteorological conditions (and the forecast for the immediate future) permit safe and comfortable flight
  • Pre-flight checks have been completed to verify that all aircraft systems are working as intended
  • Necessary calculations have been performed to ensure that the aircraft is within limits for weight, balance, fuel, takeoff and landing distances
  • A safety briefing has been given to all passengers.

In order to ensure the safety of the flight, there are some things that you need to do:

  • Give any safety-related information and your passenger safety briefing your full attention
  • Leave unnecessary luggage at home or in the car; if the weight of any baggage exceeds 5kg, this must be declared to your pilot in advance
  • Standard aircraft security restrictions apply - you cannot bring flammable liquids/solids, fireworks, toys/replica guns, matches, poisons, instruments containing magnets, harmful chemicals, sharp objects or weapons of any variety
    • Harmless liquids such as drinking water are permitted, even in large quantities
  • Children under 5 years of age are not permitted on sightseeing flights
  • Only one child under the age of 10 is allowed on each flight
  • All children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. The minimum age for a single-passenger flight is 16
  • Smoking is not permitted at any time on airfield premises or on board the aircraft, including electronic cigarettes
  • Do not enter a taxiway, apron or any area intended for the movement of aircraft without your pilot as an escort
  • Keep hands, feet and objects (such as cameras and cables) clear of the aircraft controls if you're sat in the front of the plane
  • Kep seatbelts fastened at all times. Turbulence can affect light aircraft differently and be much more unpredictable when compared with a commercial airliner
  • In the unlikely event of an emergency, remain as calm as possible, quiet and wait for your pilot to provide instructions.

We'll handle the rest and ensure your flight goes as safely and smoothly as possible. If you have any safety-related queries, contact your pilot or reach out to us.
